retagged Aug 03 '18, 1:38 p.m. by Ken Tessier (841●1●7) its seems that there are a number of permissions that can be set for a role, but in some cases there also seems to be a dependency on other permissions that you don't know about. Example - if I want to give somebody the permission of category and category value permission in RQM, it does not work on its own - there appears to be another permission required to allow that to happen.

Keep in mind that there are two levels of permissions: repository group permissions (JazzGuests, JazzUsers, JazzProjectAdmins, and JazzAdmins) and role-based permissions. Repository group permissions control access to the repository. Role-based permissions determine which operations each role can perform within a specific project area. For details, see Permissions. In addition to permissions, license assignments and access control settings also affect which operations a user can perform. This topic provides an overview of all these mechanisms: Understanding licenses, permissions, and access control. |
Hi Karen,
At this moment a complete listing on dependent permissions does not exist, however you have various options, first and easier one is to hover on the permission itself, you will see a text explaining what other permissions are required (if any). Unfortunately the add image attachment function seems to be down at the moment to add a screen capture but in QM 6.0.5 if you hover over the "Save Category" permission you will see the following text:
"Create, edit, and delete test artifact categories from within a test artifact or on the Manage Project Properties page. Only project administrators and users with JazzProjectAdmins or JazzAdmins repository permissions can access the Manage Project Properties page. To create, edit, and delete test artifact categories on the Manage Project Properties page, you must also have permission to save administrative options."
Hope this helps.
