Changing Process Configuration After Lifecycle Project Creation

Is it possible to change the process configuration from say SAFe 4.5 (Portfolio) to SAFe 4.5 (Full) after the creation of a lifecycle project? I don't want to modify the existing templates just swap them out.

Regardless the project is part of the lifecycle project or not, it is not advisable to completely change its process configuration, unless you know what the "delta" is between the before and after process configuration. In fact, you cannot apply a "template" to an existing project at all.
