Insert values into frontmatter configured in Word stylesheet?

Sean F (1.3k241145) | asked Apr 20 '18, 9:55 a.m.

If there is a style sheet configured in Word which contains front matter (cover etc.) is there a way to insert values from DNG into that

This used to be possible with WEXP by marking specific text entries on the Word document front page (e.g. <<TITLE>>) and WEXP would then search for that special string replace it on the front page with  data from DOORS Classic.

It was a good feature. Is it possible to do anything similar with RPE and DNG?

You could create a bookmark in the stylesheet with name say bk_title. Have a Text element in the template and set it's target region property to bookmark name (bk_title). This text will be written at the position in the bookmark.

Some more details. This is a little old link, but should give a fair idea. https://rpeactual.com/2012/04/06/document-assembling/

Thanks Kumar.
Do you know if it is possible to build an RPE table at a designated Bookmark location?
The Table entity has a Target region property.

I haven't tried it specifically for a table. It should be working. Did you give it a try?

I tested it now and, yes, it does work for tables.
