SAFe 4.5 Templates Replace need for Focal Point

Barbara Oxenford (615) | asked Mar 06 '18, 3:24 p.m.

It appears that with the Portfolio layer included with SAFe 4.5 templates in that it could replace the Focal Point application.
My question is, we heavily use the Contracts piece of Focal Point.  Does anyone have experience with using CLM for their Contracts?
I would imagine RM with it's review processes it could be configured to work.

Hi Barbara,
Focal Point is a Portfolio Management tool and CLM does not provide traditional PPM capabilities, but you are correct, it could be configured to do some of the things you want to do while also adopting a more agile/lean approach. I'm not familiar with Contracts in Focal Point, but depending upon what you do with that kind of "artifact" in FP, you certainly could configure something similar in RDNG and I agree that the SAFe Portfolio level would be the right place to do that.

Feel free to reach out to me directly (asilber@us.ibm.com) if you'd like to explore this a bit.

Amy
