Are any document publishing features of DNG exposed to extensions widgets?

I would like to produce a custom UI for the user to publish documents using custom RPE templates that are available within DNG. I have studied the RM Extensions API and I don't see any functions exposed directly that have to do with publishing. My goal is to create a widget that provides a more curated interface to what would otherwise be encountered at More Actions > Generate Report for View.

What I would most appreciate is a link to a set of more general functions (than what is listed in the hyperlink above) within DNG that are available for widgets to call.
