Is it true that the "Move or copy this work item to another project area" operation available via a query result set is limited to Project Areas on the same server? Thank you . . .

Yes, that's currently true, but we are planning to support
cross-repository move/copy operations in the future:

I am not able to move or copy a WI across different servers in 5.0.2. Has this not been supported yet?

 Definitely it is supported in 5.0.2. If you still have the issue, can you provide the error message you have?
