Why is the error "Deferred Operation failed" seen while executing a TSER?

Maria Amalan (784164) | asked Aug 11 '17, 3:30 a.m.

I have very simple structure of Test Plan -> Test Suite -> Test Case -> Test script. When I execute the Test case directly, it is working perfectly. But when I execute the Test Suite through a TSER, I get the error "Deferred Operation failed". I read that this error is seen sometimes when Approval Tracking is setup in a PA but I do not have any setup in my PA. What else could be the reason?

Hi Maria,

Given the behavior reported, it seems to be specific to RQM Test Suites. You could be hitting a defect.
Please raise a PMR with IBM support.

For starters, gather firebug data to see if a valid error condition is reached on the tool as per technote below:

Best Regards
Sunil

Thanks for your response, Sunil.
I have already raised the PMR and it has been identified as a Sev1 defect and escalated.
