Customization of properties in a build definition through automation

I have created a build definition associated with ANT script, and properties are defined in it. 
While requesting a build, RTC allows the user to modify the property as an input in a text box. Since this method is error prone, 
  1. Is there any way to customize this feature to a drop down selection or radio buttons.
  2. If not, is there a way to access the properties saved in RTC from outside environment.

Unfortunately I am not aware of an RTC specific extension for that. Maybe you can contribute your own dialogs.
