Using work item types from one process template in another project area with different process template

Hi !

We have 2 project areas using different process templates: project area A uses SCRUM and project area B uses 3.0.1_OPAL_SCRUM_v0.7 process. We want to be able to create and use work items type Product Feature which are available in project area B into project area A - how do we do that ?
1. Option - create custom work item type in project area A to be trhe same as work item type in project area B - seems risky to me
2. Option - create project sharing in project area B which allows project area A to use the configuration from project area B - enable setting "
Use the process configuration from another project area for this project area".
3. Create new project area A using the process from project area B and import all current and historical data into the new project area

Which one of the 3 options would you recommend ? Time is very short for implementation and I do not have test environment - everything is done directly in production, so no place for errors here.

If you already work with project A, only option 1 is practical.
