Story point addition to a parent in another project

 I have one project where we have the offering management stories and another project where we are tracking the development stories. Development stories are parented to offering management stories in the offering management project.

Both projects are on the same RTC instance.

Child story points are getting added up within the development project, but the story points are not getting added to the top parent in the offering management story. Is there any way to get this reflected?
      OM Story
            |_ Dev Story 1 - 1/5 Points Completed
            |_ Dev Story 2 - 2/3 Points Completed

I want the OM Story to indicate 3/8 Points Completed

 The RTC complexity calculation for parent/child relationships only works within one project area. It was designed that way and there is no way to change this. You could try approaches like participants as explained in  https://rsjazz.wordpress.com/2012/07/31/rtc-update-parent-duration-estimation-and-effort-participant/ . This has obviously an impact on performance and is not the same.
