Why am I unable to see trial licenses after upgrade?

anup Gaur (1392144) | asked Mar 09 '17, 1:01 a.m.
We have upgraded our CLM servers from 5.0.1 to 6.0.3. We have
floating licenses for RTC and QM. After upgrade
we downloaded the version 6 licenses and applied it to the server. The
upgrade is working fine and we are able to use the new licenses. The
issue is that during the upgrade  we installed the trial licenses. We
are unable to see the RDNG trial licenses. We need to evaluate the new
features of RDNG in CLM 6 and this is a show stopper for us.

We did a test upgrade in our dev server with the same version and the
same set of software where we are able to see the trial licenses.
Any guidance is appreciated.

I would suggest to set up a fresh test server for evaluation. You don't want to mess up your production server with evaluation data that you can't get rid of. I am not sure why the trial licenses would be gone. Have you installed the new trial licenses with the 6.x install? The trial licenses are in their own package and you must install them if you want them.

 Hi Ralph,

The requirement here is to enable the trial RDNG Analyst trial licenses in the Prod System. The reason is that they want to edit a few Project templates and artifact types for which the setup requires Analyst licenses. Requirement Artifacts can be created by using the QM licenses.

The trial licenses have been installed. In fact I have done an uninstall and install for the trial licenses since they were not working the first time.

I would consider to contact support or to contact your IBM sales to get a temporary evaluation license extension.
