We currently have 4.0.7 but upgrading to 6.0.2. 

1) Can a timeline/iteration/plan be closed instead of being archived or deleted? 

2) Can timelines/iterations/plans list be sorted by different columns (i.e. title/date)?

A timeline/iteration can only be archived or deleted. What would be the meaning of a closed timeline anyway? A plan can be kept or get deleted. 

I am not aware of other sorting of timelines and iterations. Sorting in plans can be configured based on available sort options.
