Should I run db statistics twice during one maintainance window?

I am upgrading from 4.0.6 to 6.0.2 through 5.0.2 during one maintenance window. Is it needed to update database statistics before upgrade from 5.0.2? Or it is enough to run it only once?

You're right. you only need once. The purpose is to keep the plans updates to the best
Although make sure you're not collecting only a sample, and running it to all tables, ok?

There is no need to run database statistics twice. You can run it only before upgrade from 4.0,6.
