RTC Work Item Resolve action and Reopen action

Matt Muller (59813574) | asked Jan 16 '17, 6:54 a.m.

Hi - I've worked with workflows for a while and always used the "Start Action", "Resolve action" and "Reopen action"..

However if you do not use "Resolve action" or "Reopen" action what is the effect on usage?

I thought it maybe linked to the "Resolution Date" and "Resolution Name" but this still works.

So what do these values in the Workflow actually do?

Thanks.

Matt

They are optional.

When the transitions are configured, you can select a Start action and optionally, actions for the Resolve action and Reopen action if your workflow supports the semantics. At the very minimum, you need to provide actions to enable users to move a work item from its initial state to its final state.

Also, based on the discussions in the below post, the "Resolve Action" is mainly used by the SCM "Deliver and Resolve" action. If you don't use SCM, it probably has no actual meaning in your operations.
