How does the user lookup for Contributor type attributes populate the list?
When I search users in Owner attribute( Contributor Type) I see 2 sections of users
===============================
Few Users
Search Results
Few Users
================================
I am not getting how this user list is populated, how can I get all the users in the above section
What is the default logic for population of users in contributor attribute, and does it have any relation with the way users have been created.

The original design is from:

I believe listing 50 users in web client is still in the current version.

Hello Don
Thanks for the response, the url mentioned by you are not confirming anything, Ralph mentioned that it takes users from the close relations.
But i am not sure about this in my case because in my project all users are populated in contributor (Owner attribute) with random values
Not sure your RTC version here.
how many users are populated into the contributor attribute if you don't use search feature?
I am using RTC v6.0.2
Currently in my system I can see 50 users (all users are seeing the same 50 users in the dropdown without the search)
This 50 user list differs on different project area
That's expected. As users related to the particular project will be shown, and the list is capped to 50 users.
The design work item https://jazz.net/jazz/web/projects/Rational%20Team%20Concert#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=32124 would have the inf on limitation(how many users listed) and how the users selected to list into the contributor.

For my best understanding, you are talking about the Eclipse client, correct? If true, that's how it works (based on observation).
1. When you open the Search Users dialog by clicking "more ...", it shows "users from history". Those are the users that you selected in the past.
2. When you start typing in the search filter, it shows "matching users from history only". This means that it only filters the list that is shown at the previous step.
3. When you click Search, the filter is sent to the server and more users should be returned. There may be a grey line with wording (varies in different situations) separating the two sets of results. The top part is the same as the step above. The bottom part is from the server, excluding those already shown in the top part.

If you are using 6.0.2, check these defects related with Role Based contributor list:
