Salman,
Have you looked into what you can do with the Jazz Reporting Service? We have several ready to use and ready to copy reports that are provided out of the box as well as a very easy to use, self-serve reporting user interface called Report Builder.

I am not aware of any guide for BIRT reporting.  There was some capability with JRS in 5.0.2.

In addition, BIRT reports, if I remember correctly, went against the live data in the repository db so it can be a performance impact. Badly written BIRT reports can take down a server. Some other jazz.net forum posts suggest that it may not be possible to add custom BIRT reports to a RQM instance.  See https://jazz.net/forum/questions/139074/report-birt-for-rqm
The above post says custom BIRT reports are not supported for RQM.

Can you use some of the OOTB RQM BIRT reports and make sure you have the latest iFix for 5.0.2 installed?
