Hello,

I am trying to Import the existing excel in sample folder available in Excel Import Installation folder.
I tried :
TestPlan with TestCases 001 linked to requirement 001.xls
TestPlan Requirement Collection Test Case and Requirements.xls
with Linking existing RM project and without but I get same error message.

"Error sending to server ID.04 of type requirement"

Please let me know how can I fix it.

what is your RQM and ExcelImporter version?

Both with 6.0.1 version

Are both project areas a part of LPA?
whether the QM and RM projects are configuration management enabled?

  1. LPA was explained in Somashakar's reply.
  2. If QM and RM projects are CM enabled, the way to import the requirement could be different.

Hi Kumar,

LPA means Lifecycle Project Administration

The Lifecycle Project Administration (LPA) application is a new application that is included in the Rational solution for Collaborative Lifecycle Management. The purpose of the Lifecycle Project Administration application is to simplify the management of projects across the lifecycle and provide a unified interface for managing related project areas in each of the CLM applications. LPA introduces the notion of a "lifecycle project" which is an aggregation of one or more artifact containers (project areas) from the CLM applications. 

You can also check if your QM project is configured with RM application, by going to project dashboard and selecting

Requirements - > Create Requirement

                             Create Requirement collection

                             View Requirements

You should be able to see these options followed by having permission in the RM project.  If you have access to these then you should be good to use the sample "TestPlan with TestCases 001 linked to requirement 001.xls " and
"TestPlan Requirement Collection Test Case and Requirements.xls", without any issues.

In

is visible in RQM.

Import throws server error.

Hi Kumar,

So from RQM are you able to create requirements and collections ? If not then you should give the permission in the RM application to enable the creation for that user, whom you are giving the RQMExcelWord importer.

Manually I am able to create requirements and collections in RQM but not with ExcelImporter.

I have tried with 6.0.2 still the same problem.

I just tried with RQM 6.0.2 and ExcelImporter 6.0.2 and no problem with TestPlan with TestCases 001 linked to requirement 001.xls. The requirement was created properly and link to the test case.
You may want to test against JKE Banking sample because that is a LPA(I tested against JKE Banking project areas).
Also Mso2Rqm_Debug.log should have more details on the errors and you may want to check with.
