Can we display Username (instead of User id) in comments/discussion section with Message @Me ?

Hi,

Is it possible to display the username (instead of user id) while using Message @Me in the comments/ discussion section, after placing the comment.

We have user ids as our employee id (numeric form) and hence it is getting difficult to identify whom we have mentioned in the comment. 

That's why looking for an alternative, where respective username/ Full name can be displayed, after placing the comment.

I am not aware of an option to change the current display.
