Why are Subversion externals lost when importing to RTC?

This is a configuration control mechanism by which files/folders/products can be efficiently re-used; often utilised to incorporate reusable software components.

Is there anyway to fix this? Using v5.0.2

RTC does, as far as I know, not have a concept like the Subversion Externals. Usually, there is no absolutely precise mapping between two SCM systems. So there are gaps between SCN and RTC as well. This is one.

See 36163: Investigate how to handle svn:externals during import from Subversion as an enhancement that was closed.

Users who would like something like Externals in RTC should create enhancement requests or vote up exiting ones.

I think with hierarchical components (V.6.0.1) you can implement a very sophisticated reuse-strategy with RTC-SCM which goes far beyond the external concept of Subversion.

Unfortunately there is no importer which would migrate this.
