End to end example for managing project using Team Concert

Shailesh Raj (3131) | asked Aug 07 '09, 12:54 p.m.
Dear All,

I have read article on developerWorks by Millard Ellingsworth for managing project with Team Concert. Now I am interested to use RTC for end to end application development.
1. Planning and estimating project. (This is done by reading Millard llingsworth)
2. Defect reporting, tracking, verification closure etc.
3. Integration of source code, build etc. with RTC.
Please help me to find any article available on jazz.net or developerWorks so that I can use RTC for release of software by implementing complete project life cycle.
Thanks
Shailesh

Hi Shailesh

Have you found the Workshop here on jazz.net? This is an example that may help you (I hope it has enough detail for you).

http://jazz.net/library/article/115

IBM runs a version of this workshop as a Proof of Technology at many of its locations worldwide - this will allow you to try the whole process on a pre-configured system (and plenty of help in the classroom).

Thanks Anthony this helps. Is video of this workshop is available?
One more thing, when I import database dump for this workshop on RTC server then it is overwriting existing projects, user etc. Is ther way to append this example database?

Thanks again
Shailesh

Hi

This is an all-day workshop - there is no video available as far as I know.

re: importing the database - yes, this will wipe out the existing database. You can create a new repository (install a new RTC server using the zip file versions of RTC) and start this manually using the start.server.bat command. Just don't run both repositories at once unless you have altered the settings so they work off different ports.
