jazz untrusted certification and browser install

Scott Raley (13542831) | asked Feb 11 '16, 12:13 p.m.
We have installed the certificate on a client in the trusted root authorities per the message we receive trying to get to the login page. Refresh and the certificate error still prompts. Is there a way to get rid of this in the WAS startup or is this a browser issue. After we run the install in IE, and certificate is installed we do not see it in the IE Options in the Certificate tab.

It appears that you're using a self-signed certificate, and depending on how the self-signed certificate is created, you may or may not be able to get rid of the certificate error in IE. These two requirements have to be met, at least:
1. The issuer is trusted.
2. The issued to address matches the address you are visiting.

To meet the first, you can import the certificate into the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store, as shown below.

To meet the second, you will have to create a new self-signed certificate for that exact address. The default certificate shipped in the product is issued to "CN=localhost, OU=IBM Rational, O=IBM", and it will never match any address that you will use.
