Layout forms, sections and width

Setting new Tab Layout as Custom or H, when creating Sections Left & right, when displayed in a Browser FF or IE, the Sections width are not equal and cannot be set.
This is not a good display for the end user.
Have followed https://jazz.net/library/article/130 which is a good explaination of what you can do but would want to see some more control over at least the layout width
Is there any configuration available ? or should I raise an enhancement request
