test data/keywords and access rights

Hello,

we use RQM 5.0.2 and are using team areas.
All testers have access right "Test Team Member" for the team area.

It seems that it is not possible to create test data for the testers.

Probably it will work if the right "Create/Edit test data" is allowed on root level.

For me it seems that the access right concept has room for improvements:-)

Members of one team area should not see/modify test data or keywords of users in another team area!

What is the proposed solution and will be changes in 6.0.x regarding access rights?

Thanks, Jörg

Hi Jorg, there are 2 parts in the option you explained. View & Modify. There are no "View" permissions available in RQM yet, that's precisely what this RFE Support read access control on team area (74538) is about.

Regarding "Modify" there are sufficient permissions to control this behavior at team area level, I found one such document in https://jazz.net/library/article/1239

Yes, there are a lot of permissions you can control on team area level.
But for

  •    test data
  •    keywords
  •    build records
you can control access rights only on project area level.

That means that it is not possible to restrict e.g. test data artifacts to a team area.

At least that is so far my understanding.

BTW, I also found Story 85664 "As I user I want to be able to use keywords in the context of a team area"

  Thanks, Jörg
