Ask a question

link is present in RQM but not in DOORS

Jörg Werner (3033781) | asked Oct 05 '15, 7:29 a.m.
Hello,
according to https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Deployment/HowToVerifyLinkConsistencyBetweenRQMAndDOORS9 there is a way of checking the state of RQM links and the back link status. It seems that missing links can also be fixed.

Details should be available on
https://jazz.net/downloads/rational-quality-manager/milestones/4.0.1M4?p=news#backlink

But this link does not work.

My question: where can I find a description how to check the status of links in RQM and how to add missing links if a link is present in RQM but not in DOORS?

BTW: The provided dxl script on the side works quite fine. But this script can only fix missing back links if link is present in DOORS but not in RQM.

 thanks, Jörg

I am just working on creating RQM-DOORs links with the API and found this question.
Not sure if you are still working on this, Julian just described in https://jazz.net/forum/questions/234384/rqm-oslc-api-link-doors-requirement-backlink how DOORS 9.6.1.4 or later can be configured to not need backlinks any more, and enable link discovery instead. Maybe that helps.
As an alternative, you might give a look to OSLC Cleaner which seems to repair links inconsistencies.

Hello,
we are working on CLM 6.0.2 in a distributed environment (standalone apps). We are migrating step by step some projects and the new ones are set on RQM to manage testcases. Requirements are defined on IBM Rational Doors (we have not migrated yet to DoorsNG). So we have links from RQM to DOORS Requirements.

We have reproduced same situation as described by Jörg Werner about backlinks. When creating a requirement link, a Doors module was  already opened so some partial links were created.
Following this easy instructions https://jazz.net/downloads/rational-quality-manager/releases/4.0.1?p=news#back_link (Ability to see back link status in traceability view), we don't see the option to "repair link". The broken link icon does not appear. In "validated requirements" column the list of Doors requirements are listed but no broken links, just a blank icon is showed for each one. So no option to repair the ones that doesn't have a backlink.

Do you know if it is a bug related to version 6.0.2?

Thanks in advance,
Dani

Hi Dani,

we are still working with 6.0.1. Hence I don't know if there are issues with 6.0.2.

Regards, Jörg
