We are trying to cancel a build that has been running for a few days now.  The person who submitted it is unable to cancel it.  We used userid that has JazzAdmin access and we get the same issue.  Any ideas on how to cancel it ?  Here's the error message we get when we try to cancel the build,

CRJAZ0022I An error occurred when updating the item identified as "virtual/build/result/_Hn1eAEwtEeWVpJVwiU21pA/buildstate". See the following exception message: 'Abandon Build' failed. Preconditions have not been met: You must be the owner of the build in order to abandon it.

Hi Jeff,

Based on the above error message, its been Operational Behavior Abandon Build (server) restricting from the Project area process template for users.

  • Only the user who requested the build can abandon it.
  • Only the requester or a member of the team area that owns the build definition can abandon it.

I would request you to find the link below  for Operational Behavior.

Abandon Build (server)
Cancel Pending Build Request (server)
