It should not be a problem.

The fact that you cannot change the shared area for the installation
manager is by design. You specify that location once when the
installation manager is installed and it uses it for all offerings that
are installed with it. If you were to look in the features and plugins
directory in the shared area you would see it contains every feature and
plugin for all the products you have installed.

If you look at the eclipse configurations for your installed products
you will see that, for the eclipse site associated with the shared
location, they explicitly include only the features and plugins required
for that particular product. So, any other features / plugins
associated with other products are ignored as they are not explicitly
included. This is just an optimization to allow IM to avoid downloading
of features and plugins for which the required version is already
installed on the machine.

From this original post, it sounds like RTC 1 and RSA 7 can be run concurrently as they have different installation paths. However, in trying the install, I notice that while the main install path for the eclipse environment is specified to be in a separate directory, the SDP70Shared directory is the same for both the RTC and the RSA install.

The installation Manager will not let me chose a different Shared directory so that the installations can be separate.
Will this portion be ok or are there plugins in the shared directory that will overlap/get trashed.

I don't want my RSA 7 installation to be jeopardized.

Anthony, you may run them concurrently. They have different installation
paths. There should not be a conflict. Jazz is based on Eclipse 3.3
(pre-release) and I believe RSA is based on Eclipse 3.2 so you don't
want to intermix these installations in any way. This would not happen
unless you purposely tried to do it.
