We are using user stories in RTC to present the requirement  

So, to maintain the traceability we linked the Test case artifact with the user story ,how can we generate a report about the coverage report based on this type of relation.?

If you want to use the built-in report, you can try [Test Case Review] which will provide info on [Test cases and work items associated with them].


If you are with v5.0.2, you can try with JRS which will provide out of box report "Story Traceability" or you can create your own report for the traceability you want to cover using JRS(RRDI and other reporting tool should be able to do the same thing):
