How do you customize fields such that if a field is REQUIRED, yet blank, the user will be prompted to fill it in when trying to save?

Hi,

It has been more than 6 years since this feature is stated as "high priority in the backlog."

It'd be very nice if you can share at least the current plan for its development ?

This enhancement is a little more complicated than this post suggests.  I have spoken to a lot of customers about this and all of them wish to have attributes on requirements that become mandatory under defined circumstances.  Having attributes to be always mandatory would make drafting unfinished requirements very difficult.  The enhancement for this is to associate mandatory attributes to workflow states and associate this workflow to the requirements data.  Workflow is already possible but we have an enhancement to make attributes mandatory at defined states in time.

It's already possible to have queries find where attributes are missing but clearly this is not as good

This enhancement is a popular request and a high priority in our backlog

Hello Pooja,
You can enter defaults for attributes, but cannot make fields required.  There is an enhancement request for making attributes mandatory.

21387: It shall be possible to make some attributes mandatory and others optional

I hope this helps.
