RSA 7.5.1 on RedHat NPE When Displaying WorkItem
I am helping a user that is experiencing NullPointerExceptions when
attempting to display WorkItems in RSA 7.5.1. My searches have come up empty. Is this a known problem or does anyone have suggestions on how to debug? Thank you for any insight/suggestions. /etc/redhat-release Info: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Client release 5.3 (Tikanga) Stack Trace from the RSA Log: !ENTRY org.eclipse.jface 4 2 2009-05-28 10:16:53.824 !MESSAGE Problems occurred when invoking code from plug-in: "org.eclipse.jface". !STACK 0 java.lang.NullPointerException at com.ibm.team.workitem.rcp.ui.WorkItemUI.openEditor(Unknown Source) at com.ibm.team.workitem.rcp.ui.internal.explorer.view.AbstractWorkItemExplorer.openSelection(Unknown Source) at com.ibm.team.workitem.rcp.ui.internal.explorer.view.AbstractWorkItemExplorer$7.open(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.jface.viewers.StructuredViewer$2.run(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.core.runtime.SafeRunner.run(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.core.runtime.Platform.run(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.ui.internal.JFaceUtil$1.run(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.jface.util.SafeRunnable.run(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.jface.viewers.StructuredViewer.fireOpen(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.jface.viewers.StructuredViewer.handleOpen(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.jface.viewers.StructuredViewer$6.handleOpen(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.jface.util.OpenStrategy.fireOpenEvent(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.jface.util.OpenStrategy.access$2(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.jface.util.OpenStrategy$1.handleEvent(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.EventTable.sendEvent(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Widget.sendEvent(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Display.runDeferredEvents(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Display.readAndDispatch(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.ui.internal.Workbench.runEventLoop(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.ui.internal.Workbench.runUI(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.ui.internal.Workbench.access$4(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.ui.internal.Workbench$5.run(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.core.databinding.observable.Realm.runWithDefault(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.ui.internal.Workbench.createAndRunWorkbench(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.ui.PlatformUI.createAndRunWorkbench(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.ui.internal.ide.application.IDEApplication.start(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.equinox.internal.app.EclipseAppHandle.run(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.core.runtime.internal.adaptor.EclipseAppLauncher.runApplication(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.core.runtime.internal.adaptor.EclipseAppLauncher.start(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.core.runtime.adaptor.EclipseStarter.run(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.core.runtime.adaptor.EclipseStarter.run(Unknown Source) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.Main.invokeFramework(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.Main.basicRun(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.Main.run(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.Main.main(Unknown Source) -Garrett Rolfs |

Garrett - Hi Lydia. I checked with the user and he reinstalled the RTC plugin and that resolved his problem. For the record the user was using RSA 7.5.1 with the RTC plugin to access a RTC 1.0.1 server. The RSA default JRE was being used. Thank you for your reply. -Garrett |
Garrett -
You are using the latest RTC beta 2.0 M2? You are using the default JRE that comes with RSA? Thank you, Lydia |
