I want to enable the usage of digital certificates in order to use the clm application using https protocol without having the "Risk Exception" message.
Does I need to create a self signed certificate (.cer extension) or I need to create a Certificate Sign Request (.csr).
Any advice or help will be great.

Thanks.

Please see the help: https://jazz.net/help-dev/clm/index.jsp?re=1&topic=/com.ibm.jazz.install.doc/topics/t_install_server_certificates.html which also talks about how to create and manage certificates.

In general you can use a self signed certificate, but it would be better to have a certificate that belongs to your company.
