Error in RTC 1.0.0.1 to RTC 2.0 Beta 1 : Data Migration
Hi,
On an AIX 5.3 box,I had RTC 1.0.0.1 up and running.I worked towards migrating it to RTC beta 2.0. downloaded the zip file and uncompressed it at different location.shut down previous version of RTC and made it up. I have migrated data as per instruction mentioned in sheet attached with work item 74028. I was able to import tar file created from previous version.I am able to login using ADMIN/ADMIN.I am able to see all the users and projects. However no other user is able to login to the server. There is also one serive error in status summary. We were not using LDAP based authetication but still in user page its showing Notice: You are using a directory service that is not writable. User roles cannot be modified. I am wondering what went wrong with the migration.I am pasting error log ( repotools-import ) 2009-05-22 11:56:09,614 repotools -import fromFile=/usr/jazz/server/export_from_1.0.tar 2009-05-22 11:56:12,888 Repo Tools, Version 2.0 M2 - I20090316-0438 2009-05-22 11:56:12,889 Provisioning using "./provision_profiles". 2009-05-22 11:56:25,451 Rational Jazz Team Server - Standard 2009-05-22 11:56:25,489 Loading configuration from "file:teamserver.properties". 2009-05-22 11:56:26,510 CRJAZ1093I Service failed to activate. com.ibm.team.repository.common.transport.TeamServiceRegistryException: CRJAZ1087I Failed to register services for service implementation "com.ibm.team.dashboard.service.internal .DashboardImageService". at com.ibm.team.repository.common.transport.internal.registry.AbstractActivationManagerOwner.doActivate(AbstractActivationManagerOwner.java:506) at com.ibm.team.repository.common.transport.internal.registry.AbstractActivationManagerOwner.activate(AbstractActivationManagerOwner.java:134) at org.eclipse.soda.sat.core.internal.framework.bundle.BundleActivationManager.activate(BundleActivationManager.java:290) at org.eclipse.soda.sat.core.internal.framework.bundle.BundleActivationManager.performActivation(BundleActivationManager.java:1584) at org.eclipse.soda.sat.core.internal.framework.bundle.BundleActivationManager.access$2(BundleActivationManager.java:1569) at org.eclipse.soda.sat.core.internal.framework.bundle.BundleActivationManager$3.acquired(BundleActivationManager.java:573) at org.eclipse.soda.sat.core.internal.record.container.ImportServiceRecordContainer.acquire(ImportServiceRecordContainer.java:296) at org.eclipse.soda.sat.core.internal.framework.bundle.BundleActivationManager.acquireImportedServices(BundleActivationManager.java:234) at org.eclipse.soda.sat.core.internal.framework.bundle.BundleActivationManager.acquireImportServiceRecords(BundleActivationManager.java:250) at org.eclipse.soda.sat.core.internal.framework.bundle.BundleActivationManager.startSync(BundleActivationManager.java:2049) at org.eclipse.soda.sat.core.internal.framework.bundle.BundleActivationManager.start(BundleActivationManager.java:2018) at com.ibm.team.repository.common.transport.internal.registry.OsgiServicesManager.register(OsgiServicesManager.java:403) at com.ibm.team.repository.common.transport.services.TeamServiceRegistry.registerServices(TeamServiceRegistry.java:322) at com.ibm.team.repository.common.transport.services.TeamServiceRegistry.initialize(TeamServiceRegistry.java:283) at com.ibm.team.repository.common.transport.services.TeamServiceRegistry.start(TeamServiceRegistry.java:361) at com.ibm.team.repotools.rcp.internal.command.CreateTablesCommand.execute(CreateTablesCommand.java:80) at com.ibm.team.repotools.rcp.AbstractCommand.execute(AbstractCommand.java:158) at com.ibm.team.repotools.rcp.internal.command.ImportCommand.createTables(ImportCommand.java:66) at com.ibm.team.repotools.rcp.internal.command.ImportCommand.execute(ImportCommand.java:94) at com.ibm.team.repotools.rcp.AbstractCommand.execute(AbstractCommand.java:158) at com.ibm.team.repotools.rcp.internal.RepositoryToolsApplication.run(RepositoryToolsApplication.java:611) at com.ibm.team.repotools.rcp.internal.RepositoryToolsApplication.start(RepositoryToolsApplication.java:668) at org.eclipse.equinox.internal.app.EclipseAppHandle.run(EclipseAppHandle.java:169) at org.eclipse.core.runtime.internal.adaptor.EclipseAppLauncher.runApplication(EclipseAppLauncher.java:106) at org.eclipse.core.runtime.internal.adaptor.EclipseAppLauncher.start(EclipseAppLauncher.java:76) at org.eclipse.core.runtime.adaptor.EclipseStarter.run(EclipseStarter.java:363) at org.eclipse.core.runtime.adaptor.EclipseStarter.run(EclipseStarter.java:176) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:79) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:43) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:618) at org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.Main.invokeFramework(Main.java:508) at org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.Main.basicRun(Main.java:447) at org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.Main.run(Main.java:1173) at org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.Main.main(Main.java:1148) Caused by: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com.ibm.team.dashboard.common.internal.service.IDashboardImageService.service(java.lang.String, java.lang.String, javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequ est, javax.servlet.http.HttpServletResponse) There are some more messages followed by it. any input. Hello vishnu.kumar,
After migrating the data make sure to update the authentification data e.g. the tomcat-users.xml if using tomcat without LDAP. This would explain why your ADMIN can log in but no other users. There are simply no entries for the other users (ADMIN comes as default). Ralph Any idea about the same ? |
I don't have an immediate solution for your problem, but I have a
question for you. Are you trying to use Beta 1 or Beta 2? I would recommend Beta 2, but your server version looks like it might be Beta 1. - Matt Lavin Jazz Server Team On Thu, 2009-05-28 at 08:08 +0000, vishnu.kumar wrote: Any idea about the same ? |
Hi Matt,
I have followed same steps for migrating to RTC 2.0 Beta 2 and while importing tar file i got following error. # ./repotools.sh -import fromFile=/usr/jazz/server/export_from_1.0.tar teamserver.properties=/usr/jazz/server/teamserver.properties Repo Tools Rational Team Concert, Version 2.0 RC1 (I20090520-1148) Jazz Foundation Server, Version 1.0 RC1 (I20090520-1148) Provisioning using "./conf/jazz/provision_profiles". The DB2 database was created with 4096 page size. To create Jazz schema and tables, the database must be created with at least an 8K page size. You need to drop and recreate the database with 8K page size. Refer to the DB2 documentation on how to create a database with an 8K page size The database tables were not created. The data will not be imported. for previous version i have created database using following command db2 create database JAZZ using codeset UTF-8 territory en so i think no direct migration is possible from RTC 1.0.0.1 to RTC 2.0 Beta 2. We need to have database page size 8KB. Do i need to first change database page size for previous database and then export and import ? Any inputs ?
