How to configure a failover SMTP server

James Cole (9532630) | asked Jan 30 '15, 10:25 a.m.
 Hi,

I know that when setting up the Jazz Server you can enable e-mail and enter the relevant SMTP server settings.

Alternatively, you can configure this after in Jazz Administration. However, is it possible to:

* Configure multiple SMTP servers on a single Jazz instance?
* Configure a failover STMP server?

RTC version is 5.0.2.

Many Thanks
James

Hi.

When SMTP server down, it is a temporary outage only. Emails will be delivered when the server is back online.
If you needed uninterrupted email delivery, you might consider implementing SMTP server failover using local load balancer and/or global DNS-based failover using Wide IP or similar products.
