Planning Problems Check: Which checks are performed??

Heike Hefner (845) | asked Oct 22 '14, 8:08 a.m.
We are working with RTC 4.0.6, formal planning.

As we do have some "strange side-effects" when checking our milestones with "Traditional Planning Problems Check", we think about changing the View Option "Plan check" to "PLANNING Problems Check".
But which checks "get lost" when reducing from "_Traditional_Planning_ P.C." to "_Planning_ P.C."?
The checks done for the Traditional P.P.Checks are described well, but I didn't find a correspondent list for only PLANNING P.Checks.

In other words:
which functionality fill the following attributes (see https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Main/PlanningAttributes):
com.ibm.team.apt.attribute.resolved, com.ibm.team.apt.attribute.planitem.dueDate, com.ibm.team.apt.attribute.planitem.planInclusion, com.ibm.team.apt.attribute.scheduledTime, com.ibm.team.apt.attribute.planitem.itemType, com.ibm.team.apt.attribute.planitem.estimate, com.ibm.team.apt.attribute.planitem.plannedFor, com.ibm.team.apt.attribute.planmodel.referenceTime ?

The only source I am aware of, that explains this is:

https://jazz.net/help-dev/clm/index.jsp?re=1&topic=/com.ibm.team.apt.doc/topics/c_plan_view_options_web.html

Planning Problems Check:
  • The work item is scheduled after its due date, the due date has passed
  • The Work Item has no estimate
  • The Work Item is scheduled after the iteration ends

Plan checks are checks, they don't fill anything. They tell you that attributes have odd values in relation to the current plan/iteration. If you think the description should be more detailed, I would suggest to open an enhancement for documentation.

Can I close https://jazz.net/forum/questions/164906/which-problems-are-checked-in-planning-problems-check as duplicate?

Thanks for the quick response (and: yes, you can close the further question).
The link you added is the same, I posted in my other thread - but I hoped that there are further information somewhere.

For not setting other user on the wrong track, IMHO it is important to clarify, that the checks you described are only examples of what Planning Problems Check does (see your link).

Accordingly, the description of this check differs substantially from the other checks described. So I'll open an enhancement.
What a pity, that the question "Which checks won't be performed, if we switch from "Traditional Planning Problem Chck" to "Planning Problem Chck"? cannot be resolved. :-(
