CLM 5.0.1 Load Balancing and Fail over using Hardware load balancer

Qaiser Islam (31287074) | asked Sep 29 '14, 11:36 a.m.
hi,

Can anyone share the documentation or experience how to setup the CLM solution with WAS using HW load balancer? Can two instances of WAS base is required or will have to use WAS ND with IHS after the HW load balancer?

Thanks,
Qaiser

You cannot run the same CLM applications on two application servers at the same time, so you cannot do any real load balancing at all. To split the load, separate the projects and host them on different servers.
You can do fail over with a cold standby strategy.

This strategy does not require a hardware load balancer. If you do add one, it may just add more complexity without much benefit. Of course you can use it to direct the traffic to the backup server when the primary one goes down.
