RM extension sample widget icons do not display in Dashboard or Mini-Dashboard?

When I install the RM extension sample widgets (https://jazz.net/wiki/pub/Main/RMExtensionsExamples50/extensions.zip) on RDNG 5.0.0/5.0.1/5.0 Beta 1 (VVC) on either a Windows or Linux server using the default Apache Tomcat server, the widgets will not display their icons in the left corner and just have an empty placeholder? On http://www.doorsng.com with RDNG 5.0.0, I found the widget icons do indeed display correctly as they should. It seems to be a matter of where the widget are hosted (Apache Tomcat vs. Apache Server vs. WebSphere)? Or is it a permission problem of the icon files, or some extra configuration that I have to watch for, or simply a bug? Thanx, Dominik

Hi Donald,

I am trying to add a simple widget but it is not shown into the dashboard widget list. I created simple "Hello" widget. 
Could you please tell me the which is the issue or why this problem I am facing. Or is there any permission problem is there.

Check if you have got the same issue as I have. Right-click on the small icon (or the placeholder) and open the image in a new window - do you see HTTP 415 error?
The server refused this request because the request entity is in a format not supported by the requested resource for the requested method.
The image URL looks like this
https://clm5:9443/rm/service/com.ibm.team.dashboard.common.internal.service.IDashboardImageService?url=https%3A%2F%2Fclm5%3A9443%2Fextensions%2Fasil_gadget%2FASIL.gif
The part after "url=" is actually accessible.
Actually before you add the widget, you can see the preview image, and it is hosted in the same location as the icon.

I believe this is an issue of RNDG. Please contact Support to further investigate it.

Hi Donald, I get the same error 415. You can also see this in the Chrome debugger for example. Originally I thought this was related to using Apache Tomcat vs. using Apache Server (hosting the files on Apache Server as recommended for productive usage seems to work e.g. on doorsng.com). But even Apache Tomcat can basically display icons as one can see, when just manually adding an OpenSocial Google gadget. A Google gadget icon is used then. So my guess is that it is rather a bug?  I will contact Rational Support and see whether they have any clue?

Is the above issue resolved? Did you contact to IBM Support team because I am getting the same problem as the 
above you mentioned.
