RTC and ClearCase Synchronization host

Dhruv Bansal (171315) | asked Aug 20 '14, 4:24 a.m.
Can we install RTC/JTS/CC-RTC Synchronizer on one server and CC on another and still do the CC-RTC  migration or is it mandatory to have CC, RTC, and CC synchronizer on the same machine.

The CC Synchronizer needs to be on a machine where ClearCase dynamic views are installed, but the ClearCase server can be on a different machine.   Similarly, the CC Synchronizer needs to be on a machine with HTTP access to the RTC server, but the RTC server can be on a different machine.

Note: the CC Synchronizer does need to be on machine where the ClearCase dynamic views have very good performance when accessing the CC VOBs.

Could it be like ClearCase Dynamic views and CC Synchronizer on Windows and RTC on Linux will work?

Yes, it doesn't matter what platform RTC server is on (Windows, Linux, or even Mainframe for that matter).
