Upgrading SQL Server from 2008 to 2012 with RTC 4.0.6

Mike Shkolnik (9808161143) | asked Jun 24 '14, 4:12 p.m.
We are on RTC 4.0.6 and plan to upgrade our SQL Server from 2008 to 2012 so we will be able to upgrade RTC to 5.0.1 in September.

If the server address and database names don't change, is this a simple matter of running server.shutdown, upgrading the SQL server, then running server.startup, or are there other steps that need to be done? Is re-indexing necessary in this scenario?

Hi Mike,
If you do not change database address/name/port, then server.shutdown and server.restart should be enough.

Hi I have the same issue, but the client needs to upgrade SQL SERVER2008 to 2012 since is getting out of support soon, does this upgrade has any impact on actual data? is better to upgrade the actual server or migrate actual databases to 2012? What do you recommend?
