Quick query syntax for custom attribute fields of work items

Christian Hoerst (48147) | asked May 06 '14, 10:52 a.m.
 Hi everyone,

to reduce the number of items displayed in a plan, I would like to use the Exclude with Quick query syntax functionality. However, the field I wish to query is a custom attribute and hence does not occur in the context assist of the quick query. Directly typing in the attribute ID didn't work either.

I found the following question which is basically exactly the same problem:

Is it still necessary to do this hack in the process configuration or is a more clean approach possible? As this response is also from 2009, I would like to know if this still would work.

Thank you in advance.

After some further investigation, it seems adding an attribute mapping like described in this article:

will now also expose the field to use in quick query!
