How to extend RAM policy?

Some one said the RAM only has the extension point of policy.

Thanks Bryan, as the RAM fresher, I think the policy can help to check something when asset states transformation. 

I have a requirement to check some attribute when approve assets, so I can customize one policy to achieve this goal. Is that right?
