Querying work items created from a template

Murat Isleyen (191620) | asked Apr 10 '14, 8:21 a.m.
I created a template which consists of one work item and eight child work items. Say that the creation process from the template is done by mistake. After a while, I want to find and delete all the regarding work items. I can not figure out the query of these work items?

I may search the work items by creation date within the user id. What else?

As far as I know, there is no queryable data in the workitem that tells you that it was created from a template, rather than manually. If you only want to delete workitems from one incident of accidental WI creation, you can simply go to the Links tab in the parent workitem and use the links to children to delete them.

When you create several work items from the template, after creating them, they appear in the screen as a query result. You can delete them a that moment.
