Upgrade RRDI without having to go through the setup wizard

Is there a way to manually upgrade RRDI without having to go through the setup wizard.  I have found the setup wizard to be problematic, especially if you have a distributed environment?  Or at least find out what the setup wizard is doing.

Hello Matthew,

unfortunately for RRDI 2.X we only supports the setup application as installation/upgrade method.

You can see how the manual install procedure looked like in 1.X here, however this procedure is not going to work for 2.X:

Another thing that you can do to get a better idea of what the setup application is doing, especially when there are failures, is to enable the trace logs:

Is there going to be any support to support SSL through the Setup Wizard.  For instance being able to use port 443 instead of the default port of 9080 in a WAS configuration?

Hello Matthew,

as you correctly state at the moment RRDI doesn't support installations or upgrades with SSL enabled.

see Disabling SSL on the report server
http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/clmhelp/v4r0m5/topic/com.ibm.rational.rrdi.admin.doc/topics/t_disable_ssl.html

As I'm not aware of any plan to change this in the future, I would suggest opening a Request for Enhancement (RFE) for this feature on the IBM RFE Community: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/support/rational/rfe/

Best Regards,

Francesco Chiossi
