Where can I get a Formal PM Process template to import?

Hi,
I am a newbie.
I would like to use RTC and would like to demo its use (to the rest of the team) by showing a RAIL tracking and reporting use case.  I thought it would be nice to create a project using the Formal PM Process template that I read about in https://jazz.net/help-dev/clm/index.jsp?re=1&topic=/com.ibm.jazz.platform.doc/topics/c_traditional_process_temp.html&scope=null.

When I got to my server, I do not see this template (was going to attach an image of what I see but I don't have good enough reputation to include pictures yet).

I do see the Import Template link/option but where can I get the template file to import?

I see the RTC version is 4.0.3.

Thanks for any tips anyone can provide.
Jenny

 Hi Jenny

--> Firstly, I do not know if you are trying this using the RTC web client or the Eclipse client.

--> If you have installed the RTC server and using Eclipse client, launch the Eclipse client, go to Window --> Open Perspective --> Workitems;

Towards the left pane you have Team Artifacts, Process Templates, Team Organization tab; select Process Templates; You should find the repository connection to which you have connected; Below this you should find the Formal Project Management Process Template.

To create a project area based on this template, right click --> New --> Project Area;

--> If using RTC web-client, go to https://<localhost>:9443/ccm/admin page; Go to Templates --> Here you should find the list of default templates in RTC, which includes the Formal Project Management Process. If you do not find this towards the right top corner, click Deploy Predefined Templates;

I hope this helps.

Hi Sumant,
Thanks!  I am using the RTC Web Client (to a shared server).

When I go to the Templates, this is the list of default templates I see:

  • Quality Professional, Analyst, Developer
  • Quality Professional, Analyst, Developer - with Design Management
  • Quality Professional, Developer - without Requirements
  • Quality Professional, Analyst
  • Analyst, Developer
  • Analyst
  • Analyst - without Requirements Change Requests
  • Quality Professional - without Defects and Requirements
  • Developer
  • Quality Professional, Analyst, Developer - with separate Quality Management Tasks and Requirements Change Requests
  • Architect, Analyst
  • Architect, Developer
  • Architect
I don't see the one I want (unless someone renamed it to one of the above).  I did click on Deploy Predefined Templates and did not see any new ones.  Then I saw the Import Template link and that's when I thought I could ask for the template file to import.

Any other ideas?

Looks you are pointing to the following URL:

https://<hostname>:9443/admin/web/templates and that is where you see the above listed options.

Instead, point to the URL https://<hostname>:9443/ccm/admin/ then go to Templates; You should find the templates if deployed. If not, deploy predefined templates.

Sumant,
Thanks for responding to my questions.

I forgot to mention that I get a 404 when I put in "ccm" in the URL (I don't know much about the set up on the server or RTC install, I just have access to it).

If I go to https://gpsrtc3.austin.ibm.com:9443/ccm/admin/web/templates
I get --

HTTP Status 404 - /ccm/admin/web/templates

type Status report

message /ccm/admin/web/templates

description The requested resource is not available.

Apache Tomcat/7.0.32

As in message, application is not available. You will have to check with CLM/RTC administrator if they have CCM application installed.

If not, install the application. Then you need to have atleast JazzProjectAdmins (not just JazzUsers) repository privilege to create a new Project Area or deploy the predefined templates in CCM (Change and Configuration Management) application.

Let me know with your findings
