On the
https://jazz.net/help-dev/clm/index.jsp?re=1&topic=/com.ibm.jazz.platform.doc/topics/c_permissions.html&scope=null
page, the Report permissions don't really explain the permissions applied to Insight as I have Insight integrated.

Does this information exist somewhere?

Hello Russell,

some information on the security settings for Insight can be found in the following topics of the info center:

Francesco,

Thanks for the reply.  I did see those links you referenced, but from an RQM role-based "reporting" permission perspective, the help page I mentioned does not discuss the Reporting permissions with respect to Insight.  Do the permissions affect Insight reports with the Perform Additional Reporting Tasks link in RQM?  By removing all reporting permissions for the Team Member role, are users impacted on the Insight side?  If so, then the Help page needs to provide this information.

Thanks,

Russ...

Hello Russel,

from the Insight perspective the security is managed in 2 ways:

1) If you use the data model with security, a user running a report will only be able to see the data from the project areas he is member of. If you use the data model without security the user will be able to see data from all the projects.

For more details see:
Switching to the unrestricted data model
http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/clmhelp/v4r0m5/topic/com.ibm.rational.rrdi.admin.doc/topics/t_admin_switch_data_models.html

2) In Insight you can restrict the permissions to run end/or edit reports to some CLM users or CLM repository groups (for example JazzAdmin). This is discussed in the links in my previous answer.

The role permissions at the RQM project area level doesn't affect Insight.

Francesco Chiossi
