Latest version of RTC client and server do not work together

Stephen Kruger (361117) | asked Feb 10 '09, 12:20 p.m.
I downloaded the latest version of the RTC client and server for Linux, as proposed on the download page (Foundation-Server-I20090122-1459-Linux.zip) and client (1.0.1 I20081024-1335)

Trying to create a Project workspace, when I click on deploy templates, I get the error "The server version is 8 while the client is 6. Both client and server must match."

I don't see ANY reference to either 8 or 6 in my client or server. I would have assumed downloading the latest of both from the download pages would give me compatible versions of both.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

thanks

A 2.0 client will likely not work with a 1.0.1 server either.

There are some open bugs about how to deal with the version mismatch
better.

Hi,

I've seen this question asked a few times and I was just wondering
what the plans are for version to version compatability.

Can a v2 client work with a v1.0.1 server, or do they both have to
match?

Is it possible to get the error message updated so it talks about the
versions that are most visible to people? As this person mentioned 6
and 8 does not match with the RTC versions most people are familiar
with.

Thanks

You cannot use a 1.0.1 client against a 2.0 server. You need to use a
2.0 client with the 2.0 server.
