Export/import incompatibility?

Steve Mawer (1622) | asked Sep 19 '13, 9:39 a.m.
If I export an RTC name field containing an asterisk to a CSV file, why does RTC complain when I try to re-import it?  There are a number of other characters that seem to be problematic, too, eg @.

I've found a defect (37476) that states import files should be utf8 encoded, but an asterisk is encoded as its ASCII self in utf8.

And on a related note - is there a way to get RTC to export dates in the format it requires for import?

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve, I would recommend opening up a PMR, since your right, the encoding should be ASCII and this may be a defect.
