Customizing work items

Hi,

After working through several iterations with RTC my team realized we wanted to augment the User Story work item type with an additional field. I have managed to add this field, and update the work item view to show it.

The problem is the new field is only settable on user stories created after I updated the User Story work item type.

Is there any way to get this new field on existing User Stories? I do not wish to have to cancel and recreate a whole load of User Stories.

Thanks
Alasdair

The option to upgrade existing work items is well hidden at the moment,
but we have plans to make it more discoverable:

- Create a query for all User Stories and run it
- In the Work Items view, right-click somewhere in the type column
- The context menu shows an entry 'Synchronize Attributes'
- Run it, and your existing user stories will have the new attribute
