How to show description field of a baseline in Visual Studio or Web client

Itai Handler (111) | asked Sep 17 '13, 10:21 a.m.

Hello,

When I create a new baseline I can enter text in the description field.

How can I see this text in the Visual Studio or Web Client?

Thank you!

Hi Itai,

currently (v. 4.0.4) it's not possible to get the description information of a baseline within VS client or the WEB UI.
This can only be done by Eclipse or the command line CLI.

E.g.
C:\>scm list baselines -C BasisDiverse -r jazzqual -u EICKEL_S -w eickel-test
Component: (2838) "BasisDiverse"
Baseline: (2862) 2 "Baseline after patching thing"   "this is a description created in Visual Studio 2010"  EICKEL_S  Oct 11, 2013 12:56:26 PM
Baseline: (2863) 1 "Initial Baseline"   "Initial Baseline of Component BasisDiverse"  EICKEL_S  May 22, 2013 3:56:24 PM

I've created an Enhancement request for Visual Studio:
Visual Studio: Baseline description shows not up when running show baselines

Hope this helps,
Simon
