Relationship of work items

Pat Silva (121) | asked Jan 28 '09, 10:06 a.m.
Assume that a "story" work item has a number of child "task" work items.

The estimated hours for the task work items total more than the parent story estimate. Is there any way that the user can be warned of this?

The "story" is moved into a later iteration. The child tasks are not moved. Is there any way that the children can be moved, too?

Hi Pat,

the estimate on the story should only be used if with the story itself
work is assigned. Otherwise it is not necessary since the progress and
load bars do the roll up of the estimates automatically.

Select the children as well in the plan (the ones you want to move) and
execute Plan For from the context menu.
