Load and deliver only one file

Ana León Villamayor (5664) | asked Jan 27 '09, 7:06 a.m.
Hi,

we have installed the RTC 2.0 M1. We are doing some tests about lock functionality. It runs great but we have a question.

We had created a project with many documents.

We would like to know how we can have only one of those documents in a workspace, modify it and deliver those changes.

When we only load one file, the "deliver" option is not available.

Thank you very much in advance

Thank you very much for your answer.

It would be very useful for us the "file granularity". Our project is similar to the situation described in the enhancement 49872 - Sparse loading

Are you going to include this feature in any release?

Hi,

1) If I create a workspace, all the documents are loaded to my local workspace (it is not possible to select only one file)

2) If I don't have my local workspace, we can load to my local workspace only one file using
"Repository File" view -> Clicking on the right button over the file -> select "Load"
Then, using the "Package Explorer" view, we can modify the file but we have no option to deliver the changes, lock the file.... etc.

In the option one we have all the options available.

Thank you very much!

Yes, currently we only support loading of Repository Workspaces down to folder-level granularity; but not file granularity. The "Load" action from the Repository Files View isn't the same kind of 'load' since it does not share the resource (hence, you cannot deliver/lock). "Load" from the repository files view is more like: "Download to disk".

https://jazz.net/jazz/resource/itemName/com.ibm.team.workitem.WorkItem/55028 covers features we'd like to see for loading; I believe including loading just a subset of files.

To load at the folder level, load a Repository Workspace and choose to "Browse folders to load" and dig through the tree to pick the parent of your files. I hope this alternative will work for you.

Can you give a bit more detail about how you're loading the one file? Is this an action from the Repository Files View, Pending Changes View, or Team Artifacts View?
