How do I export and then import "work items"
hello,
I have 2 project areas and I would like to export all my work items from one project area into my second project areas. I checked the import/export options but it seems that i can't find a solution for this. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers, Vio |

Thank you Geoff !
Yes indeed... there is a limitation there... I tried on 2 project under the same jazz repository and it worked fine. I think that this limitation should be resolved in the future. Also, I haven't seen any documentation on this process. It may be worthwhile to have a section under the Migration help. Thank you all for your prompt response and for helping me find a solution to this! I really appreciate it ! Cheers, Vio |

In 1.0, you cannot move a workitem from one jazz server to another ...
you can only move a workitem to another project area on the same jazz server. Cheers, Geoff vonut wrote: Hi Patrick |
Hi Patrick
Thank you for your reply. So I have around 30 defects... and your solution seems ok. However, when I go to "Move/Copy to Project Area" option, I get a message dialog with "Not Connected to any other project area". My 2 project areas are on 2 separate jazz servers. I have connected (logged in) in both servers under the same RTC instance, and also I have "Connect to project areas ..." for both projects. Is there a step that I'm missing in order to see instead of the "Not Connected to any project area." message the right project? Thank you, Vio |
I have 2 project areas and I would like to export all my work items Depending on how many work items you have, you might be able to use the "Move/Copy to Project Area" action for this purpose. It is available from the context menu of a work item. -- Regards, Patrick Jazz Work Item Team |
